Terry Fox Run
The Terry Fox run is a national event that will see people across Canada coming together with their communities to participate in the event.
Organizer for the Parkland Region's Terry Fox organization Steven Roznowsky says cancer affects families everywhere. "It's hard to find a person who hasn't been either touched by cancer, or whose family, friends, or acquaintances haven't been touched."
Dauphin's part of the 35th annual Terry Fox run will be taking place tomorrow at Vermillion Park. Registration starts at 11, with the run to follow.
Federal Elections
It's going to be a quiet day for Prime Minister Harper, N-D-P Leader Tom Mulcair, and Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau.
No campaign events are scheduled for any of the three.
Last night Harper attended a campaign rally in Toronto where he got Wayne Gretzky's support, but he won't be getting the Great One's vote on October 19th.
Expats like Gretzky, who've lived outside Canada for more than five years, are barred by law from voting in elections in their native land.
Migrant Crisis
Police say nearly seven-thousand migrants arrived this morning in Austria after Hungarian officials escorted them out of that country.
Many were dumped in Hungary by Croatia, which says it can't handle the 17 thousand migrants who have arrived in that country since Wednesday.
Tens of thousands of migrants have become trapped across southeastern Europe since Hungary and other countries erected barriers to block their passage to western Europe.
The migrants are escaping war and poverty in the Middle East and Africa.
The Pope is due to arrive in Havana this afternoon to start a 10 day trip to Cuba and the United States.
It's Francis's first trip to the former Cold War foes, who are in the process of normalizing relations.
On Thursday, Francis will become the first Pope to address the American Congress.
The pontiff's visit to the U-S will also take him to New York and Philadelphia.
Big Money Lotto
Heads up if you're a lottery player, it appears the grand prize in next Friday's Lotto Max draw will be the second biggest lottery jackpot in Canadian history.
Because no one has the winning ticket for the 55 million dollar jackpot in last night's Lotto Max draw, next Friday's grand prize will be 60 million.
The biggest-ever Canadian lottery jackpot was 63.4 million in a Lotto 6-49 draw in April, 2013.
There were four winning tickets, each worth almost 16 million.
