RCMP Respond To B+E Report In Sandy Lake
Two Manitobans are facing charges for alleged breaking and entering in Sandy Lake, one of them a youth.
Shoal Lake RCMP responded to a report of a break and enter on Thursday morning following additional calls from witnesses reporting suspicious looking people in the area.
Police found three male suspects matching the original complainant's descriptions and have charged two of them with three counts of break and enter each.
18-year-old Kole Walker Blackbird of Keeseekoowenin is also facing an additional charge of failing to comply with a sentence or court disposition.
The youth is also facing two counts of failing to comply with a sentence or court disposition.

U of M Campaign Getting Donation From Province
The Manitoba government says it is donating $150-million toward the University of Manitoba's Front and Centre Campaign.
Premier Greg Selinger says the government knows that students want to have access to the best programming and opportunities they can.
He says that's why they're focusing their investments in key priorities areas like innovation, inclusion and teaching excellence.
The Front and Centre campaign is targeting several priorities at the university including new classrooms, improving student support and Indigenous studies.

High Winds On The High... Lakes
The Manitoba government has issued high wind warnings for the long weekend for the south basins of Lake Winnipeg and Lake Manitoba.
North winds are forecast to range up to 50 kilometres an hour starting tomorrow night and continuing until Monday.
The province says wind speed and significant wave action could raise levels on the lakes by as much as three to five feet or more.
The Manitoba government advised property owners to take precautions.

Conservative Leader Stephen Harper is taking a break today, but is expected to return to campaigning on Sunday.
