The Manitoba Government announced today an additional $32.5 million dollars will go towards public education.
Part of the expansion in funding goes towards creating setyourcourse.ca, an online tool that will allow students to see what courses they need to take for their dream job.
Education Minister James Allum says it's important for students to not only have an idea of where they want to go in life, but how they're going to get there.
"What programs, what courses they need to take, where they can go to get these courses, and that provides with that critical information to understand how you get from point A in your life to point B, or point C for that matter."
The additional funding brings the province's public education budget up to $1.3 billion, an increase of about 2.55 percent.
Some other areas receiving funding include literacy and numeracy programs, increasing funds for Indigenous students switching from on-reserve schools to off-reserve schools, and more resources for under-privileged youth.
