Manitoba Hydro is warning residents of reports of people going door-to-door and claiming to be with the company, but are actually not.
Reports from Winnipeg, Brandon, and Selkirk, say the people involved requested to inspect the homeowner's furnace, and then offered to rent out a new furnace at 0% financing, which they say could be added to their Hydro bill.
Manitoba Hydro says they offer no such program.
While Hydro employees do go door-to-door periodically, they will present an official ID card with their name and photo.
If you have any doubts about someone who claims to be with Manitoba Hydro, the company asks you to contact the Manitoba Consumer Protection Office before you let anyone in your home.
