Local Entrepreneur Joe Houston, owner of Go Beyond Games, says that local businesses build community too.
"Specifically, with my store, we focus on being a third-place. you have work, you have home, where is your third place that you feel welcome, a part of the community, and appreciated? many small business create that space for people"
Houston notes that creating this space is key for both the community and the business to thrive.
"I think if you're in small business long enough, you very firmly understand that without community, you don't exist. One way to ensure you connect that community is to help create a space where they feel welcome and included. So, we do that out of necessity."
