The search for a Chief Administrative Officer continues for the Rural Municipality of Dauphin.
The RM had an agreement in principle with a candidate. However, that candidate has withdrawn their application to pursue other opportunities. While an unfortunate circumstance, Ernie Sirski, Reeve, is confident the RM will find someone to fill the position.
"It's not the first time I've been involved in this type of hiring process, not necessarily with the RM, but with other organizations," said Sirski. "Sometimes it takes a while to get the right person in place. We will get there."
In an ideal world, Sirski hopes that any future candidate will have some municipal experience.
"And if not, we will take the time to train the right individual," added Sirski. "With that said, it would be nice to find someone with experience in municipal affairs."
Assistant CAO Tyral Solski has taken over the position on an interim basis. Ernie wants to thank her for all of her contributions and hard work.
"I have to give her a lot of credit. She is a real trooper and she's keeping things going," ended Sirski. "One of her daughters is graduating, and she has been very busy with volleyball. Tyral is a very busy young lady, but she's been holding things together. I have to compliment her and give her a lot of credit."
