There's nothing but sun in the forecast for this weekend, and organizers are calling for a 100% chance of exciting fun for three days.
The Ashern Rodeo runs from Friday to Sunday night. Rachel Postlethwaite is the president of the Ashern Rodeo.
"It looks like the weather is going to be perfect. We'll begin with the street dance on Main Street from 5:30 to 9:30 and then an incredible fireworks show at 10:00," said Postlethwaite. "Saturday morning opens with a pancake breakfast from 8:00 to 10:00 at the Centennial Hall."
After breakfast, there's a market at the pavilion in Railway Park from 10:00 to 2:00.
"That's going to be neat. You can check out different vendors," offered Postlethwaite. "Then the rodeo grounds open at 2:00 and the action starts at 4:00."
Saturday night ends with a social starting at 8:00. Then on Sunday morning, there's cowboy church starting at 10:30 at the rodeo grounds. Sunday's rodeo starts at 4:00 p.m. A day pass is $15, or a family day pass is $40. A weekend pass is $25 per person, or $50 for the family. Children 6 and under are free.
Rachel invites all adults in the area to come out for a great weekend. But that's not it. This event is for the entire family.
"Absolutely, yes. We work hard to make sure we have free entertainment for the kids at the rodeo," ended Postlethwaite. "There's going to be pony rides, kiddie train, bouncy castles, and so much more."
This is the last weekend before school, and Ashern is looking forward to putting on an epic send-off to summer.
