A strong local economy is just one of the many benefits of "Putting Your Money Where Your House Is".
Dauphin Mayor Dave Bosiak says there is a multiplier effect when you shop locally.
"As opposed to spending money out of town. When you purchase something at a store or a local business or service, you are basically allowing them to continue to operate. And what that does is it allows them to have staff. And those staff members earn wages. And then those staff members will also spend some or all of their wages locally."
Bosiak says the effects of spending locally are very significant.
