It's one of the marquee events on the Dauphin Kings schedule.
Ukrainian Night. It goes down on Saturday night at Credit Union Place. The Kings, who have lost two of their last three games, welcome the second-ranked nationally, Niverville Nighthawks to town.
Niverville is 34-2-1 entering the game. One of their regulation losses was against Dauphin.
Christian Laughland with the Kings confirmed a special guest will be in attendance.
"I just got off the phone with the Office of the Premier. Wab Kinew will be one of the many in the building, which is very exciting," said Laughland. "Ukrainian Night is always a great night. We're looking forward to this year."
There will be vendors on the concourse. Cory 'Laffy' Lafontaine will be giving out prizes throughout the game.
"There will be player introductions and a light show," added Laughland. "Stephen Jaddock is coming back, and we can't thank him enough for being a part of it. There will be giveaways. There will be a band. So much is going on, you don't want to miss this."
Tickets cost only $5. You can get yours at the CNUF office inside the Dauphin Marketplace Mall. You can also purchase tickets at the Speedy Glass South Ticket Office inside Credit Union Place. As of Thursday morning, more than 1,200 tickets have already been sold.
That's expected to skyrocket leading up to puck drop on Saturday. It's a game that will see the Kings looking to get back on track against the league leaders.
If you haven't got your tickets yet, now is the time.
"You don't want to be a part of that massive line out the door of people getting tickets last minute," ended Laughland. "This game has sold out in the past. Once we hit that capacity, we have to cut it off. It's as simple as that, so don't wait any longer."
Last year, Ukrainian Night saw 2,112 fans pack the stands. In the last three Ukrainian Nights combined, there have been 6,049 fans.
