A 34-year-old man from Swan River faces several charges after being discovered with a stolen TV.
The incident happened late Wednesday night near a retirement home on Ida Street in Dauphin.
An officer on patrol spotted the man carrying the TV and eventually arrested him when he tried to hide behind a shed, recovering a weapon during the arrest.
A subsequent investigation at the retirement home found that a TV had been ripped from the wall stand, with drug paraphernalia also being found at the scene.
The suspect faces charges that include mischief and theft under five grand, possession of a weapon, and failing to comply witha probatoin order.
