The Special Olympics Manitoba Polar Plunge fundraising series made its way through Brandon and Clear Lake this past weekend.

On Saturday, recruits from the Brandon Police Service plunged into cold water tanks, raising over $21,000 in the process.

Yesterday (Sunday), a similar event was held in Clear Lake, and raised over 10 grand.

A total of nine events are being planned across the province, with proceeds going to support more than 2,000 athletes with disabilities, who participate in 17 sports through Special Olympics programming.
