Sammy's Farm Supply is hosting a special gathering next Tuesday night for anyone considering raising chickens.
"Chickens 101" begins at 6:30 next Tuesday at Obsolete Brewing.
Sammy's owner Jeremy Sulatyski describes some of the topics that will be discussed.
"We are going to talk about different types of feed that are available. We are going to have our rep from New Rosedale down to talk about what you are going to use to start, some of the medicated and non-medicated feeds that are out there. We will also walk through all of the supplies that are needed. A lot of people have never raised chickens before, so they do not have a full grasp of everything they may or may not need to be super successful."
Sulatyski adds this meeting is for rural residents only.
"The City of Dauphin does have a by-law that says no chickens in town. It is unfortunate but that is the rule. I guess that is how they describe as that is "the way the egg cracks"."
