A 31-year-old from the Keeseekoowenin Ojibway First Nation has been charged with first degree murder.
On July 28, 2025, at a home in the community, a 33-year-old female was killed, and a 26-year-old man was seriously injured. Initially, Frank La Forge was arrested and charged last August.
On Thursday, officers from the Yellowhead and Russell Detachments arrested Darion Burns while he was driving along Highway 45. He was taken into custody without incident.
On top of the first degree murder charge, Burns is charged with attempted murder, and obstructing justice.
He will remain in custody.
