Today's power outage in Dauphin and some surrounding areas was caused by an equipment issue, according to Manitoba Hydro
In an emailed statement to CKDM NewsNow, a spokesperson for Manitoba Hydro said an equipment issue at the Vermillion Station caused an outage, affecting around 1,200 customers. On-site staff were able to restore the power around 10:15 AM.
During the outage, large parts of Dauphin's south end lost power, including the Dauphin Marketplace Mall and Dauphin Tim Hortons.
