There will be a special buzz in the City of Sunshine on Saturday, May 30.
The City of Dauphin is back with its second annual community-wide yard sale, and let's say, it's going to be massive.
Christian Laughland says already more than 100 properties have signed up across the community. Sales will offer a wide range of items, from antiques and clothing to kids’ gear, furniture, and more.
"And it was a great day in the community when it happened. People were ripping around town, and obviously, you want to be safe when driving around and checking out the sales around town," said Laughland. "It was a really great day in the community. We had a ton of positive comments on it. We're definitely looking to make this a yearly event."
The sale will be from 9:00 to 3:00.
If you'd like your sale featured on the official yard sale map, you're running out of time. The deadline is Friday at 4:30. p.m. To register your sale, head here. "I would encourage everyone to get in on that. There won't be any names on the map," continued Laughland. "You'll be on the community-wide map that will be in the Parkland Shopper and the Dauphin Herald. It's really good for people out there to open up and see where they can go, rather than just driving down streets."
Some tips for the day include bringing cash, coming prepared with reusable bags and boxes, and being courteous to other people and their property.
Laughland says city officials were blown away by last year's turnout.
"We kind of always wanted to in the back of our heads, make this a yearly event," ended Laughland. "Especially with the curb-side giveaway we've done in the past. We sat around the table and thought about a yard sale and opening it up to the community. It's taken off from there."
Buzz is already building as yard sale frenzy returns to Dauphin on May 30.
