Prairie Mountain health is inviting the community to come celebrate the 125th anniversary of the Dauphin Hospital and Dauphin Regional Health Centre this Friday.

Blaine Kraushaar with PMH says the event will take place in the cafeteria of the DRHC.

"It is going to be held from 2-4 on Friday. A come and go type of event where we will have speeches from a number of dignitaries, some refreshments, and Al Gray will be there to talk about some history of the hospital, as well as soe displays that he will be able to talk to folks in attendance about."

Kraushaar adds 125 years is a significant event worth recognizing.

"There has been over a century of care at the Dauphin Hospital and Dauphin Regional Health Centre.  We want to recognize the important milestones that the hospital has gone through, not only since the hospital's inception in 1901, but also in the last 25 years since we celebrated the 100th anniversary of the hospital."

In the last few years, alone, the Dauphin Regional Health Centre has undergone significant changes, included an expanded emergency room, a new cancer care unit, and the addition of an MRI machine.
