A Valley River man remains in custody following a disturbance at a hotel in the south end of Dauphin.
RCMP were called at around 3 am on Saturday after reports that a woman was shouting inside the hotel, and was ignoring requests from hotel staff to quiet down.
Police arrived to find both a man and woman who appeared to be intoxicated.
The man gave police a name that was different that was on his ID, and was subsequently arrested.
As he was arrested, the male suspect spit on an officer.
42-year-old Elijah Shingoose has been charged with assaulting a peace officer, resisting arrest, and two counts of failing to comply with an undertaking.
No word on any charges against the female.
