Seeding results were mixed across the Northwest region last week.
According to the latest Manitoba Agriculture Crop Report, areas that missed the recent precipitation events and overland flooding were able to make some progress.
But farmers in the Swan Valley region and near San Clara continue to wait for their fields to dry up after torrential rains and flooding a week and a half ago.
Physical damage to some of those fields includes erosion, cuts, washouts and movement of soil, while some fields also show symptoms of crop damage including excess moisture stress.
Field pea and soybean seeding are complete.
Stages for field peas range from seedling to V5, while Soybeans are at approximately unifoliate to first trifoliate stage
Spring wheat seeding is approximately 85-90% complete, while Canola seeding is approximately 75% complete across the region.
Herbicide applications have occurred where conditions and stages allow.
