Wet conditions continue to pose a challenge for Northwest region farmers hoping to either finish seeding, reseed some crops, or complete timely spraying.
The latest Manitoba Agriculture Crop Report says farmers experienced a mixed week of weather, including cool overnight temperatures, moderate daytime temperatures and frequent showers.
That rain continued to pile on already saturated soils in parts of the region, with damages continuing to be assessed in the Swan Valley region where significant rainfall and overland flooding occurred earlier this month.
Spring wheat and spring cereal seeding was approximately 90% complete as of the June 20th MASC deadline, while canola seeding was about 85 per cent complete.
Cereal crop stages range from seedling to tillering, while canola stages range from cotyledon to 4-6 leaf.
Soybean and field pea seeding is complete across the region, with soybeans mostly at the  V1 stage, while field peas range from V2 to V6.
