Amber Fisher of Grandview is facing a forgery charge and more.
Fisher was scheduled to be sentenced in court on a theft charge. On August 31, Dauphin RCMP learned she submitted a doctor's note saying she was unable to attend after being seriously injured in a car crash.
The note said the collision happened on July 22.
It was given to her lawyer, who submitted the document, then it was accepted by the courts. The sentencing hearing on a theft charge was adjourned to a later date.
The RCMP later determined the note was a forgery. No reports had been made involving the suspect being in a collision on that day in Manitoba or any province.
On Tuesday, she was arrested without incident.
She also faces a charge of obstructing justice and uttering a forged document.
