87 per-cent of this year's crop in the Northwest region has been harvested, according to the season ending Manitoba Agriculture Crop Report.
Precipitation was a major story for this year's growing season, as some areas of the Northwest region saw more than 300 per cent of their yearly normal.
Heavy September rains, later-seeded crops, persistent morning dews, and narrow harvest windows, contributed to a prolonged harvest season, with some acres remaining unharvested.
Field pea yields ranged from 30-35 bushels an acre, and were generally below average to average, although some fields produced above average yields.
Spring wheat harvest is approximately 98% complete, with yields ranging from 50 to 90 bu/acre, while later-harvested fields reported below average yields of 25 to 35 bu/acre.
Harvest is approximately 95% complete for both Canola and Soybeans, with yields for Canola averaging 25 to 35 bu/acre, with some fields yielding as little as 10 bu/acre.
Soybeans yields range from 35 to 45 bu/acre.
Across Manitoba, 94 per cent of this year's crop is harvested.
