The 2015-16 hockey season came to an end for the Dauphin Kings Tuesday night at Credit Union Place with a 4-2 loss to the Selkirk Steelers.
For the second straight game in their best-of-three survivor series the Kings opened up the scoring in the first period when Kirklan Lycar (1) tallied on a sharp angle shot.
After that, however, the Kings took three straight undisciplined penalties and it led Selkirk to three unanswered goals. One of them on the Power Play.
In the second period Dauphin played well and Tyler Garrioch (1) was rewarded on the team's second Power Play of the night. The Kings out played Selkirk for a good amount of the second period and for the first half of the third, getting numerous chances to tie things up in the final frame. The closest they came was when Riese Gaber hit a post on a rush up the ice. Not too long after that the Steelers went up the ice and scored to put the game away.
