On Thursday members of the Parkland U-18 Rangers hockey team met in front of the Dauphin Regional Health Center for a cheque presentation towards three separate cancer programs around the Prairie Mountain Health Region.
The Rangers donated a total of $3,600 which was raised during their Hockey Fights Cancer night held back in October with the funds raised through in-game donations, sponsors as well as an auction of special pink jerseys that were worn during that game which were donated by Embroidery by Design in Dauphin.
The donations will be split evenly with $1,200 going to each of the Dauphin, Russell and Swan River Chemotherapy Units to help even more cancer patients in the area.
Shelley Tokarchuk from the Cancer Care Community Program in Dauphin was on hand to receive the funds from Rangers players Rylan Gibbs, Kyan Grouette, Marco Bodnarski, Cohen Smigelsky, Skyler Carriere, Madden Murray, Parker Boguski, Kyler Swanton, Carter Zalischuck and Alumni Dave Swanton.
