Residents of the Parkland will have a chance to say thank you to Eleanor Snitka for the impact that she has had in our region.
After being a cosmetology teacher for 22 years and working in the mental health field for 25 years, Snitka announced earlier this month that she is retiring from work life.
Snitka says a special event to mark her retirement will take place Saturday from 2 until 5 at the Watson Arts Centre.
"I don't know if anybody remembers, I used to do a fundraiser for Mood Disorders that was caalled "Voices of Angels". We had all kinds of local talent there. Well, I am going to have some of my angels coming back to do some entertainment. And we are going to have refreshments and snacks, and an opportunity to have an open mic for people to talk and share, and for me to mingle with."
Instead of bringing gifts for her to celebrate her retirement, Snitka would like people attending the gathering to bring donations of either non-perishable food or money for the Dauphin and District Food Bank.
