Year one was an overwhelming success.
There were multiple vendors, fun and games for all ages, and organizers couldn't have been happier with how it went.
Heading into this year, they started planning earlier, and now, it's showtime. The Yellowhead Harvest Festival at the Prairie Mountain Regional Museum in Shoal Lake runs on Saturday from 4:00 to 7:00.
Chantelle Shwaluk is one of the organizers.
"We have touch-a-truck, a canteen, multiple games, a rock wall, bouncy castles," said Shwaluk. "The local museum will be running hay rides. We have multiple vendors, and they'll be under a tent. It's going to be another great day."
There will also be a pumpkin patch, mini golf, and face painting for the kids. There is no admission fee, but please remember to bring some cash for food and to support the great vendors on hand.
And for those wondering if this event is suitable for you, Shwaluk says, come one, come all.
"All generations. We are hoping to make this an event that those of all ages can enjoy," ended Shwaluk. "Grandparents to nursery kids and everything in between, we have lots going on for everyone."
There's also a chili cook-off happening. If you're a master at making chili, you can enter yours for $20. Bring a crockpot of homemade chili and then pay $5 to sample them all and cast your vote. The winner receives 50% of the proceeds. To enter that, call Jenna Shwaluk at 365-0172.
