The provincial government has announced that it is investing $350,000 into four community development projects in Dauphin, which promote active living for seniors and provide training and support for young people in the area.
Dauphin Rec Services is receiving $100,000 for upgrades to Credit Union Place, while the Ukrainian Folk Arts Centre and Museum is also getting $100,000 for enhancements.
Career Trek gets $50,000 to help deliver career education programming for youth, while the Anishinaabe Agowidiiwinan Secretariat will get $100,000 to develop youth programming.
The funding comes through the province's From the Ground Up – Safe Healthy Communities for All program.
It funds renovations at local legions and community spaces, as well as programs that help keep young people away from gangs and crime, improves public parks and supports seniors looking to stay active.
The fund is investing more than $12 million this year to support over 200 projects across the province.
