A survey that uses feedback from local residents along with statistical data to evaluate how the community is doing has released its final report.
Dauphin and District Community Foundation Executive Director Kit Daley says Dauphin Vital Signs provides grades in eight key areas, and offers insights from Dauphin residents on the strengths and areas that need to be worked on.
"Out strengths were definitely our standard of living and arts and recreation, both of which scored an A-. Areas that need work include education and learning - which includes access to learning opportunities, and culture and belonging. Although residents expressed a strong sense of belonging, the score reflects moderate to low levfels of civic inclusion and representation."
Daley also describes how the results will be used.
"We share the information with decision makers and policy makers at all levels of government , as well as sharing it with Mountainview School Division and the RCMP. And we hope that it will provide the information needed to start working on the areas that need to be worked on to improve our quality of life."
