On Tuesday, the Manitoba First Nations Police Service arrested a man in connection to an incident on Saturday, which involved the Sandy Bay First Nation man stealing a vehicle and using it to ram a marked police vehicle.
After he was arrested on May 25th, the suspect damaged the police vehicle's prisoner cage and managed to escape while in handcuffs. He was quickly located and taken back into custody.
Following both incidents, Jordan Beaulieu of Sandy Bay First Nation is facing 10 charges, including assault on a police officer causing bodily harm, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm, and escape from lawful custody.
The damage to the police vehicle has rendered it inoperable.
