An early Wednesday morning incident in the city's south end has led to charges against a 19-year-old Dauphin woman.

Mounties were called to a home on Sixth Avenue Southwest at around 2 am on reports that two people had been assaulted inside the home.

As they attempted to arrest a suspect, she tried to bite one of the officers in the arm, and then kicked the police cruiser as she was placed inside of it.

Neither of the victims - a 68-year-old woman and a 21-year-old man - or the officer that was bit, required medical attention.

The suspect has been charged with two counts of assault, and one count each of assaulting a peace officer and resisting arrest.

She was released on conditions, pending a future court date.
