The Sandy Bay detachment of the Manitoba First Nations Police is hoping someone can help them identify two male suspects wanted in a drug and weapons investigation.
Just after 8 pm last Wednesday, officers witnessed one man passing a backpack over to another man before both men fled the scene.
A foot pursuit was launched, and despite the assistance of Police Service Dog Zion and an aerial drone, officers were unable to locate the suspects.
But, they were able to locate several items discarded by the men, including clothing, personal items, and the back pack.
It contained a .22 calibre rifle with several fully loaded magazines, as well as a cell phone, a crack pipe, and other ammunition.
Even though charges have not officially been laid, MFNPS expect both suspects to face firearm and controlled substance possession charges.
Anyone with information on the individuals are asked to contact the Sandy Bay detachment at 204- 843-7700, or their TIPS line at 1-833-978-0048
