Most of the thousands and thousands of festivalgoers enjoyed the weekend without issue.
For some, that wasn't the case. The Dauphin RCMP has released charges for folks who broke the law at Dauphin's Countryfest over the weekend.
Bracelet Removed:
Just before 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, officers responded to an assault at one of the campgrounds. A suspect punched a 22-year-old man who was walking with his girlfriend back to their campsite. He was transported to the hospital for treatment of his injuries. Later, an 18-year-old man from Dauphin was arrested and faces a charge of assault causing bodily harm. His festival bracelet was removed.
Drunk Driver:
On Sunday, officers pulled over a vehicle driving erratically on the campground site. A 46-year-old female was charged with impaired driving.
Assault:
A female victim did not require medical treatment after she was assaulted. On Saturday, there was a domestic disturbance in one of the trailers at a campground site. A 40-year-old man from Lake St. Martin was charged with assault.
Double Trouble:
Officers told a Saskatchewan man to leave his girlfriend alone for a little while after the pair got into an argument. The man repeatedly declined. He was taken to the Dauphin Detachment and spent the night behind bars until he sobered up. He received $1,344 in tickets for disorderly conduct and failing to comply with a direction by police to leave licensed premises.
Always Remember Where You're Supposed To Be:
A 24-year-old man from Brandon was found sleeping in the wrong camper. When he was woken, he began fighting with the rightful occupants. He was arrested, spent the night in a holding cell, and was released without charge on Friday.
They're Here To Serve & Protect:
A couple was ticketed for disorderly conduct after a 30-year-old man physically challenged officers and security multiple times throughout the night. The male and the 20-year-old woman he was with then started pushing each other. The two from Valley River First Nation were given $672 tickets and held in custody overnight.
The RCMP thanks festival organizers and city officials for their annual efforts to ensure Countryfest is safe for all attendees.
