The RM of Dauphin continues working to mark all of their washed out roads. Reeve Ernie Sirski says they don't have any exact numbers, but estimated around a hundred washouts is very possible.
Right now, as with every other municipality and city in the Parkland, Sirski urges residents to not travel unless necessary.
"We don't want you travelling down municipal roads that may or may not be washed out. We don't know how many roads are washed out, but we have lots...travelling on municipal roads may place you at significant risk, water can conceal washouts, road damage, and other dangerous conditions," said Sirski.
Sirski said if you choose to evacuate voluntarily, they want you to call the RM of Dauphin to register your contact information with them. He added in his entire life living in the Parkland, he has never seen flooding this bad.
"If you choose to voluntary evacuate for your safety, please contact the RM office at 638-4531 to register your evacuation location and for contact information. In an emergency, please contact 911, and our emergency contact line number is 204-701-8523...I've lived in this municipality for 72 years, and I've never seen this before. I lived through the floods of 2010, 2011, and 2014, and have never seen this," said Sirski.
The RM of Dauphin, like most Parkland communities, is under a State of Local Emergency.
