Manitoba Hydro is continuing to restore power to parts of the Parkland today.
In a news release, the crown corporation says some customers could be without power overnight, including customers in the Lac du Bonnet area, Parkland region, and small groups of Winnipeg customers.
Some of the things Manitoba Hydro is dealing with include downed power lines, broken poles, lightning-damaged equipment, and washed out roads. As of Tuesday at 5:00 PM, more than 3,800 customers in Manitoba were without power. Scott Powell, Director of Corporate Communications, said they're working hard, but calls are still coming in.
"We have made significant restoration progress since last night; however, we have been getting more reports of outages and damages rolling in throughout the day," said Powell in the news release.
Estimated restoration times will continue to fluctuate, depending on changing weather and road conditions, especially in the Parkland, with the number of washed out roads and large amounts of overland flooding. It's possible Manitoba Hydro will need to access certain communities by air to assess damages.
Manitoba Hydro also continues to repair a severaly damaged line near Rossburn, that saw 10 poles destroyed in a tornado.
