The Board of Directors of Canada's National Ukrainian Festival have announced the cancellation of this years Festival.
They say with the closure of the Dauphin Regional Health Centre, and relocation of emergency services to communities over 30 minutes away, they've determined that they can't confidently provide timely medical care for their large event.
The Board met with representatives from the City of Dauphin, RM of Dauphin, local politicians, and insurance provider before making this very difficult decision.
They add there'll be an opportunity for patrons to rollover their passes to next year, or request a refund.
