A reminder to Manitoba residents to turn their clocks back one hour before going to bed Saturday night.
Daylight savings time officially eds as of 2 am on Sunday morning, as Standard time returns.
The time change does not affect Saskatchewan residents, as they stay on Standard time the entire year.
Fire departments also encourage residents to use this time change weekend as a reminder to check their smoke and carbon dioxide detectors, and change the batteries in them if needed.

The gathering will take place on Thursday night in Aspen Lodge of the Parkland Rec Complex, beginning at 7 pm.
Society president Terron Stykalo says they're always looking for new board members and volunteers.
"We can not put on events like the fair without the numerous amount of volunteers we have that give up their hard-earned time to help us put on a fantastic event. And that does not go unnoticed. So, if you are looking for something to join in the community, by all means the Ag Society is welcome to have anyone and everyone join them."
Besides electing new executive members, there'll also be a review of this past year's Dauphin Fair, as well as a sneak peek of planning for the 2026 show.

The average Canadian spent $67.65 on Halloween last year.
That increases to $121.57 for parents. It happens just once a year, and Friday is the night. Hundreds of kids will hit the streets in Dauphin as they look for their candy fix.
Trick-or-treat, you'll hear those words many times on Friday night if you're handing out candies.
While trick-or-treating can make for a great night with your family and friends, Cam Abrey, Dauphin's Fire Chief, urges caution so that everyone stays safe.
"When you're out with your mask, make sure you have enough visibility, so you can see clearly, especially when it's time to cross the street," said Abrey. "As drivers, be aware of kids who will be out and about. Especially because it's on a Friday, more people seem to be out on Fridays compared to a weekday."
Stay in well-lit areas, and if you are in the darker areas, have a battery-operated flashlight with you. If you're using candles and jack-o'-lanterns, keep them far enough away from anything combustible, such as curtains.
For parents, Abrey says, talk to your children. Over the past four years, there have been eight pedestrian collisions on Halloween.
"Educate your children, this is the perfect time to stay away from open flames," said Abrey. "If they do get too close and their clothing catches on fire, they stop, drop, and roll. Looking both ways before crossing the street."
Abrey also says this is the optimal time to make sure your smoke alarm is working. And, always trick-or-treat with someone, if possible.

Globally, the Ford Motor Company has collected over two million pounds of food during its current food drive.
This food will then be donated to local food banks around the world. Ford Motor Company has been recognized as achieving the world's largest auto dealer food drive.
There are 3,054 dealerships globally, and communities across Canada collected almost half of the weight.
At Dauphin Ford, the great food drive continues until the end of the day on Friday.
"We've got a truck in the showroom, and I would say the box is half full. The whole bottom is covered, and it's starting to pile up," said Cary Fillion. "Locally, we're doing a great job. We're very happy with our staff, our team, and all those who stepped up to donate."
Fillion, who celebrated two years at Dauphin Ford on Wednesday, says you can call the Dauphin Ford shuttle and they'll come pick up any donations you may have.
The number is 572-5720.
At the end of the day on Friday, all the food will be sent to the Dauphin & District Food Bank to help those in need in our community.
Cary says the support received has been incredible.
"It seems like the rural stores do very well. It's a small-town sort of thing, everyone gets together in a time of need," ended Fillion. "Dauphin and the Parkland area have come together and done a great job."
If you're out and about on Friday, take any donations to Dauphin Ford until 6:00 p.m.

Contractors for Manitoba hydro are beginning work today in both the R-M of Dauphin and Mossey River Municipality, clearing trees and bushes away from their power lines.
The work, which is expected to wrap up by March of next year, is being done to make sure there is adequate clearance for power lines in the area, which will in turn minimize the risk of tree-related power outages and electrical shock potential for not only the public, but also for Manitoba Hydro staff.
Work will be done manually as well as with the assistance of bucket trucks and mulching equipment.
Residents are cautioned that the contractors may have to enter your private property in order to complete some of this work.

11 years ago, Lindsay Lepla saw her niece and nephew walking around town on Halloween night in Ste. Rose asking for non-perishable food items to donate to the local food bank.
She thought it was the most beautiful thing in the world to do. 11 years later, the giving back in Ste. Rose is stronger than ever.
On Friday, students in Ste. Rose will be canvassing the town, starting at 1:00 p.m., picking up donations that'll then be donated to the food bank.
If you have any non-perishable food items, leave them on your doorstep.
"I think it's a beautiful way to have children learn to give back to their community, rather than taking," said Lepla.

This will be the 11th year that Lindsay has spearheaded 'Scare Away Hunger'. She says the event continues to gain steam and is looking forward to Friday.
"It's very successful. The longer it's been running, the more we get," ended Lepla. "Usually, I'm delivering two truck-beds full of food to the food bank every year."
Lepla says the food bank in Ste. Rose is highly utilized, and there are always families waiting for food.
So on Friday, you can help make a difference and feed a family by leaving non-perishable food items on your doorstep.

The Parkland U18 Rangers return to Credit Union Place on Friday night for the first time in nearly a month.
The Southwest Cougars come to town for a 7:30 puck drop. Since a season-opening loss against Southwest, the Rangers have earned points in eight straight games.
On Friday, they'll be hosting their fifth annual Hockey Fights Cancer game. It's a game that has drawn large crowds in past years.
Erin Sigvaldason is a part of the committee organizing Friday's festivities.
"All proceeds from the game are divided between the three local cancer care units in Dauphin, Swan River, and Russell," said Sigvaldason. "We're having a puck toss, ribbon tree, and a raffle table. The admission is $10 and free for all healthcare workers."
The Rangers have raised tens of thousands of dollars in the first four years for the three local cancer wards. On Friday, they'll look to add to that total in a big way.
"Last year, we raised approximately $5,500, and it continues to grow every year," added Sigvaldason.
Before Friday's game, the Rangers will honour Miguel Van Den Driessche and his family. Miguel recently lost his mom after her battle with cancer. The Rangers will wear their pink jerseys for the last time. After Friday's game, those jerseys will be auctioned off.
There will be many great prizes up for grabs, including Winnipeg Blue Bombers tickets, simulator time at Caddie's Golf Simulator & Lounge, a one-night stay at Best Western, and many more.
It's an important game for Parkland. They're seven points behind the Thrashers for first place in the league. The Rangers have been rolling and will look to keep doing so. But Friday's game is more than just hockey.
"We're honouring a teammate, this is much more than hockey," ended Sigvaldason. "It's about everyone's fight with cancer."
After Friday's game, the Rangers remain home for games on Saturday night and Sunday afternoon against the Eastman Selects. You can hear Erin's full chat with Darnell Duff ahead of the team's Hockey Fights Cancer game during the Dauphin Kings Power Play Show on Friday afternoon at 4:00.
