The Canada Groceries and Essentials Benefit is set to help families from coast to coast.
Prime Minister Mark Carney made the announcement, which will boost the amount Canadians get on their GST payments. If you receive GST, the payments will increase by 25 per cent over the next five years. It'll include a one-time top-up of 50 per cent this June.
A family of four will receive up to $1,890 this year with the increases, compared to $1,100.
A single person will receive $950 this year compared to $540.
