Expanding the Celebration of Cultures event from one day to three appears to be a recipe for success.
Over 600 people checked out the six pavillions set-up, which showcased a total of eight different cultures.
And Amanda Novak with Dauphin Neighbourhood Renewal Corporation is confident that even more cultures will come on board for next year.
"We had some come out of the wood work, saying that they wish they would have known about it. We got our rweferals from Regional Connections, but now that other cultures in the community are aware of it, they will be invited to join in for next year."
The event was a collaborative effort between the DNRC, Regional Connections, Dauphin Culture Days, the Friendship Centre, and several cultural groups within Dauphin.

A boil water advisory is in place for those affected by the water line break east of Gilbert Plains and north of Highway 5.
- Drinking and ice making;
- Preparing beverages, such as infant formula;
- Preparing food, including washing fruits and vegetables; and
- Brushing teeth.
You don't need to boil tap water for laundry or washing dishes. You can also use water to have a bath or shower.
The water in the area will be shut off again on Tuesday, starting at 9:30 a.m., as crews continue to fix the break.

A week full of activities has been planned for Russell, as the community holds its annual Beef & Barley Festival.
It begins with a scarecow competition, and ends next Sunday with a car show.
Brittany Pushka, one of the organizers, goes over some of the details of the week:
"Some highlights are the comedy night with Kelly Taylor; our new event for the little ones on Thursday called the Kids Barley Bash; the annual Beef & Barley pancake breakfast on Saturday morning; as well as the cribbage tournament; and then the return of the wildly popular dodgeball tournament, which is also on Saturday. And, then we have the highly anticipated charity buckin' rodeo and cabaret."
Most of the events are free to attend, with exceptions including the comedy night, the pancake breakfast, and the Saturday evening cabaret.

Gilbert Plains Public Works will be busy on Monday repairing a water break.
Water users east of Gilbert Plains and north of Highway 5 will experience a temporary water outage beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Monday. Crews will be working on a water main break.
There is no timeline for how long the fix will take, and crews appreciate your patience.

The Dauphin Fire Department is charging into fire safety.
Fire Prevention Week begins on Sunday and runs throughout the week. This year's theme is lithium-ion batteries in your home.
Lithium-ion batteries power cellphones, laptops, electric vehicles, and so much more. Their high energy density, light-weight nature, and ability to be recharged make them perfect for devices and systems requiring long-lasting power solutions.
Cam Abrey with the Dauphin Fire Department says Dauphin is fortunate not to have many issues come up with the batteries. However, more issues are being seen around the world. Abrey says it's important to look around your home to identify which devices use lithium-ion batteries.
When purchasing a product with lithium-ion batteries, Cam says take the time to research it to ensure it has a ULC label or CSA stamp. If it does, that means it's nationally recognized and tested. That means it meets important safety standards.
"If you are replacing lithium-ion batteries, make sure it's from the manufacturer itself," said Abrey. "We all know we can jump online and purchase cheaper batteries. However, they aren't always compatible with what has been manufactured. It's important to make sure that whatever you're replacing is with what the manufacturer suggests."
This is the time of year when baseboards are fired up for the first time and space heaters are used. While they both help us stay warm during the cold winter months, Abrey urges caution. It doesn't take much to start a fire.
"If you do have baseboard heat, make sure you have clearance around them before you turn them on," said Abrey. "Make sure no newspapers or dirty old socks have fallen on them during the summer when they weren't used. When it comes to candles, make sure you've got proper distances and that they're in a properly rated candle holder."

Dauphin Fire Department was called to attend a garage fire on Saturday morning, at a residence on River Avenue East.
The fire is out, and there are no reported injuries.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.

The Dauphin marketplace Mall will take its first shot at hosting a card show this weekend.
The former Sydor Farm and Garden location will host the show on Saturday from 10 until 3.
Organizer James Blake says there will be a little bit of everything at this show.
"I did not even know that I had these, but I will have some Spiderman holograms from 1994. There will be a lot of cool cards, and even if you are not a collector, there will be a lot of cool stuff to see. Even if we do not get any more vendors, it is going to be a good show. There is going to be probably at least 30-400 thousand cards in total."
Everyone that attends will be entered into a draw for a Blaster Pack of Upper Deck Series 2 hockey cards from last season.
