Dauphin RCMP are worried for the wellbeing of a 38-year-old man as temperatures continue to dip overnight.
Brian Lamirande was last seen walking eastbound on Veterans Drive in Dauphin on October 3. He was wearing a backpack and wearing a hoodie.
He was reported missing from an address on 3rd AVE SE.
Brian is described as 6’1”, 300 lbs with short brown/blonde hair.

A 29-year-old from Valley River is facing several charges after he chased a vehicle while under the influence, and he had a knife.
On October 8, Dauphin RCMP responded to a complaint that a vehicle was being chased by another vehicle, where the driver was brandishing a knife.
The victim said the incident began in a parking lot when he was confronted by the 29-year-old, who had a knife.
The victim fled, but Dylan Smith followed him at a high rate of speed. The victim and suspect were not known to each other. A traffic stop was conducted on Railway Avenue and Buchanon Avenue.
Two females exited the vehicle, and eventually, Dylan did as well.
Everyone in the vehicle was arrested and found to be under the influence of alcohol. Two females, aged 28 and 37, were released without charge.
A small amount of cocaine and a knife were found in the vehicle.
Smith faces a slew of charges, including flight from police and operation of a vehicle while impaired.

Safety is key, and the Manitoba government is helping you stay that way.
Applications for the Manitoba Security Rebate program are now open. The program aims to make security equipment more affordable for homeowners and tenants in the province. The program offers a $300 rebate to homeowners and tenants for purchasing security equipment.
Upgrades include security cameras, locks, doorbell cameras, alarm systems, motion detectors, reinforced doors or windows, anti-graffiti film and paints, security gates, pull-down protection shutters, and permanent security fencing.
The program applies to qualifying security equipment that was purchased and installed on or after August 23, 2024. The program continues until it reaches $2 million in applications.

It's the 125th Edition of the Ball.
The first was held in March of 1901. The Ukrainian Orthodox Auditorium plays host to the Dauphin's Fire Department's Firefighter's Ball on Saturday, November 1.
Tickets are now on sale for one of the marquee dates on the calendar every year.
Cam Abrey is Fire Chief for the Dauphin Fire Department.
"The excitement is in the air," said Abrey. "We always say thanks to our community and all the donations and support we receive to make the ball a success. This year, we lost Darren Killen from our membership. His family made a couple of donations that we will be auctioning off. One of them is a kayak package, which was a passion of Darren's, getting on the water."
Another package features a Milwaukee cordless tool package. Darren passed away in June after a battle with cancer. Killen was a dedicated member of the Dauphin Fire Department for nearly two decades when he became ill.
Abrey says his legacy will live on.
"He was an integral part of our operations. He was one of our deputy chiefs until the end," offered Abrey. "He brought his daughter for Fire Prevention Week in 2005 for a tour of the fire trucks, and he then joined the department. He was largely involved in the training of new members and was always willing to take people under his wing and show them the way. He leaves a very large pair of boots to fill. I don't know if anyone will ever fill those boots."
Tickets are now available for $60, or a table of eight is $400.
"You'll be treated to a great meal by Irvings, and we have Men in Cheap Suits performing. We've had them for the past couple of years, and everyone always asks for them to come back," ended Abrey. "Tons of prizes to be won and of course, the specialized auction."

Swan River RCMP had to use a taser to arrest Tyrone Guiboche on Tuesday.
The 41-year-old had an outstanding warrant for manslaughter and breaching conditions. Officers received a tip and searched a home on 2nd Avenue S in the community and located Guiboche in a back room, along with another male. Guiboche broke free and fled out the back door.
A short time later, officers used a taser to get him, and two officers were injured as they attempted to place him in handcuffs. He was eventually handcuffed and transported to the detachment.
On top of the manslaughter charge, Guiboche now faces two charges of assault on a police officer and two of resisting/obstructing a peace officer.

With the arrival of fall means the return of COVID-19 and flu vaccine clinics.
Prairie Mountain health says the free community clinics will begin October 27th in Camperville, Swan River and Russell, with nearly 100 public clinics taking place across the PMH region throughout the fall.

Just over a year to the day of the incident taking place comes word of fines against a local nurse and manager for transporting a newborn baby to a Winnipeg hospital using a handivan.
According to a report by the CBC, the healthcare professionals were fined by their regulator for actions they say, "had the potential to seriously harm the patient, as well as the profession."
On October 5th of last year, a baby was brought in to the Dauphin Regional Health Centre, where staff decided the child needed to be taken to Winnipeg's Children's Hospital.
But Manitoba's Medical Transportation Coordination Centre decided that the child could not be transported by air ambulance due to poor weather, adding the child would be transported once a ground ambulance was available.
But, when the infant's parents expressed a desire to leave the emergency department against medical advice to take their baby to Winnipeg themselves, the manager arranged for a handivan to transport the child, and a nurse agreed to take the child.

12 pedestrians have lost their lives in Manitoba in 2025.
October is Pedestrian Safety Month, and now is the time to focus on the vulnerability of pedestrians while walking on roadways in the province.
In 2025, there have been 271 collisions with a pedestrian reported to Manitoba Public Insurance.
Tara Seel is with Manitoba Public Insurance.
"Walking on our roads in our province should never be a death sentence," said Seel. "We are reminding everyone to slow down and definitely pay attention at crosswalks."
Drivers are asked to be on the lookout for people walking on the side of the road or about to cross the road. Drive to the conditions and wait for pedestrians to fully cross the road. For pedestrians, always be aware of what is happening around you.
"You want to wear bright clothing to ensure drivers can see you, especially at night," ended Seel. "You want to avoid distractions. Don't wear headphones, and it's best to stay away from making phone calls when crossing the road."
The majority of incidents involving pedestrians occur over the fall and winter months, with the largest number occurring between 3:00-5:00 p.m. when people are typically headed home from work or school.
Whether walking or driving, the roadway is for everyone. Working together and focusing on the road can get everyone home safely.

The first year was 1979.
Forty-seven years later, Ste. Rose's Hoof 'N' Holler is going stronger than ever.
The family-friendly festival begins Thursday, and runs until Sunday.
Emilie Durston is the president of the Ste. Rose Hoof 'N' Holler Committee.
"We are super excited, we're just finalizing the last few details," said Durston. "We can't wait for the weekend."
If you haven't checked out the festival in past years, Durston says it's a must-visit.
"Basically, it's a festival that brings the community together to celebrate our agricultural roots, and Thanksgiving," she added.
Thursday events include a Ste. Rose Prevost Foundation bingo at the Community Hall, starting at 6:00; on Friday, there's a family fun carnival at the Kinsmen beer gardens from 4:00 to 7:00; there's an 18+ beer pong tournament at 9:00 in the Ste. Rose curling rink, followed by live music from 9:30 to 12:30 a.m; and, Saturday starts with a parade at 10:00 a.m.
"We've got some wagon rides, there is a Métis Mini Market, which we are super excited about," said Durston. "We have a craft sale, and the Heartland Rodeo starts at 3:00 at the Ste. Rose skating rink. Then, there's live music at night."
The festival continues into Sunday with another jam-packed day.
"We've still got lots happening, starting with a pancake breakfast, and the proceeds are going to the Ste. Rose playground committee," ended Durston. "The Maeghan Bramley Memorial Steepers perform at 10:00 a.m., coin in the straw for those aged 15-and-under. There's more rodeo action at 1:00, and a cabaret starting at 8:00 p.m."
The 47th Hoof 'N' Holler Queen will be named at 10:00 p.m., during the cabaret. It's going to be an incredible weekend in Ste. Rose, and you can see the schedule here.
